We've all done it... no wait, no we haven't.

A man drove his flashy Ford Mustang 400 yards along the pedestrian walkway of the Golden Gate bridge before it got wedged between the fence and the guard rail.

It's suspected that 22-year-old Daniel Soto was under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The authorities had to use a fork lift truck in order to try and prise the Mustang out from the walkway and load it onto the back of a truck, according to SFGate.com.

The incident happened at 5am, and the driver was initially taken to hospital before being discharged and taken into police custody.

Priya David Clemens, a spokeswoman for the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District told SFGate.com:

“The Golden Gate Bridge crews like puzzles. They certainly got a challenge this morning.”
