“Weird Al” Yankovic‘s fifth Mandatory Fun video takes spoof fans to the field.

Released Friday, the parody master is simultaneously fueling and poking fun at the extreme spirited fanfare that surrounds sports competitions, with “Sports Song” in which he is backed by a full marching band by singing lines like, “Our players are fast and strong and brave, and your guys? Eh, not so much.”
The fight anthem might as well become every university’s cheer ritual, especially with its universal appeal: “OK, full disclosure, we’re not that great, but nevertheless, you suck!”
The sports-themed video is released just two days after the ESPYs, ESPN’s sports awards show.
The Grammy winner is promoting his new album, Mandatory Fun, (RCA Records) with eight music videos in eight days. Earlier this week, Yankovic shared his takes on Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy,” Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines,” Lorde‘s “Royals” and Iggy Azalea‘s “Fancy.” The videos feature cameos by Jack Black, Eric Stonestreet, Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Kristen Schaal, Patton Oswalt, Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant.

The album also includes parodies of Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” (“Inactive”), as well as style takeoffs on Southern Culture on the Skids (“Lame Claim to Fame”), Foo Fighters (“My Own Eyes”), Crosby, Stills & Nash (“Mission Statement”), Pixies (“First World Problems”) and Cat Stevens (“Jackson Park Express”). The “NOW That’s What I Call Polka!” medley features Al on accordion running through snippets of “Wrecking Ball,” “Pumped Up Kicks,” “Best Song Ever,” “Gangnam Style,” “Call Me Maybe,” “Scream & Shout,” “Somebody That I Used to Know,” “Timber,” “Sexy and I Know It,” “Thrift Shop” and “Get Lucky.”
