The CW is bringing back Whose Line Is It Anyway?
The half-hour comedic improv series serves as the cornerstone of the youth-skewing network’s push into comedy and will be back for a third season, again consisting of 24 episodes.
The CW revived the series in March 2013 following its 1998-2004 run on ABC. The series is hosted by Aisha Tyler, and features Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles.

CW president Mark Pedowitz has repeatedly said that if that series was successful, he would use it as a building block for a comedy lineup. The network renewed the show for a supersized second run — up 10 episodes to 24 — and moved it to summer. A premiere date for the third season has not yet been announced, but it will be in 2015.
The network has been continuing its push into comedy, ordering Canadian sperm donor comedy Seed — not to be confused with the network’s digital studio. The network also has Backpackers, an adaptation of its reconstituted online episodes, from its digital platform, with six more web installments filmed but yet to be streamed.
The news comes as The CW is poised to present its new fall fare to reporters at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour Friday.
