NBC’s Parenthood is bringing in a new obstacle for Hank (Ray Romano) and Sarah (Lauren Graham).
Breaking Bad alum Betsy Brandt is set to reprise her role as Hank’s ex-wife Sandy — only there’s one tiny little detail that he has neglected to tell her.
“She’s a very intense woman!” Hank says to new girlfriend Sarah as he attempts to justify why he hasn’t told Sandy — and daughter Ruby — that he’s in a new relationship in an exclusive clip from Parenthood‘s season premiere.
Brandt guest-starred in one episode and will recur during the sixth and final season of the Jason Katims family drama. Her character was last seen in season four’s “Trouble in Candyland” episode when she leaves with her daughter for a new life in Minnesota.
“One story I’ve wanted to tell that we haven’t had opportunity to delve into is the sort of blended family,” showrunner Katims tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s interesting to see Hank and Sarah. They’ve got enough to deal with just as a couple. But then to throw in not only Hank’s daughter but ex-wife and Sarah dealing with her own children — it’s a really interesting thing to watch them have to navigate those waters and how it challenges that relationship but helps bring them closer.”
Check out the exclusive clip, below. Parenthood’s final season begins Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. on NBC. Check back to THR’s The Live Feed next week for our full interview with Katims.
