Are Open Source Business Plans the Key to Tackling the Toughest Problems?

Were opening a dialog to the network, heres the question:

Are open source business plans the key to unlocking the future success of tackling the toughest global problems?

We want to hear your thoughts, ideas, strategies. Your opinions matter! Comment, share and engage to start the conversation.

Traditionally business plans are coveted and held secret within a business. Usually, before a business plan is shared, a non-disclosure/ non-compete agreement is circulated among interested parties for basic protections against infringement. Is this the most effective strategy to solve the most complex issues? I do not think so. The value-add of working together in beneficial community business efforts to target complex problems and the propensity to implement solutions collectively is astonishing.

Maybe this is time to transition into the advent of open-source business plans to tackle life's toughest problems like hunger, poverty, even post-consumer waste plastic in the oceans? Problems like hunger, poverty, plastic in the ocean cannot be solved by one person, one entity, one group or by prevention alone, a mobilization of tremendous resources will have to be garnered to even begin to start to solve such extensive issues.

The key may be open-source business plans to unlocking and leveraging extensive resources to solve complex global problems locally. I am a firm advocate by recognizing global problems and implementing local solutions. Here in Hawaii, many cultural, historic and ecological resources are affected by waste ocean plastic which we work to combat by providing goods and services that utilize what is seen as a waste product while donating a portion of each good sold to beach-clean up efforts, prevention campaigns. Hawaii isnt the only place affected by this extensive issue. Everywhere is affected and waste plastic can be seen everywhere, in every ocean and on every continent. We encourage group efforts and engage the network to begin to work towards better solutions.

It takes a village, so if you read this and are interested in an Open-Source Business Plan Exchange focused on tackling Global Issues, locally: Comment, share, engage.

Thank you!
