The high-pitched sound heard around the world on Friday was One Direction fans squealing with delight. The U.K. band released their new music video for “Steal My Girl,” and it is quite the production.
Danny DeVito plays the singers’ director in the video, who meets them in the middle of the desert to start filming. There’s no clear parallel between the music video’s location and the lyrics of the song — maybe 1D escaped to the desert so nobody could steal their girls?

“We’re here in the name of art,” says Devito in the clip. “We’re here to commit ourselves to a higher form of expression.”
That higher form involves sumo wrestlers, monkeys, lions, ballerinas with parasols and a marching band. (Seriously.)
