Police arrested a man on two counts of attempted murder after he allegedly ran over 2 women with his pickup truck and then led police on a chase.

According to the Vallejo Police Department, an officer was flagged down by two victims on Saturday afternoon at Laurel Street and Benicia Road in Vallejo. The two women were lying on the ground with moderate injuries.

According to witnesses, a man in a red pickup drove over the women and then drove off.

While medics were attending to the women, police and witnesses saw the man drive by the scene once again, and he refused to stop for police.

Police then chased the driver throughout Vallejo before ending the pursuit at Tennessee Street and Oakwood Street. The driver gave up and was taken into custody.

According to police, the attack was a result of domestic violence.

The suspect was identified as Jon-Luke Laprote, 20, from American Canyon.

One victim was taken to a local hospital, and the other to a trauma center.

The names of the two women will not be released.
