HBO has dropped three Game of Thrones treats to help tide fans over until season five.
A new clip features Jon Snow (Kit Harington) speaking with Mance (Ciaran Hinds), the King Beyond the Wall who surrendered in the season-four finale. Jon struggles to convince Mance of something important. Perhaps it’s to make a deal with Stannis (Stephen Dillane), who has assumed a leadership role on The Wall, or to order his people to do something.

“You didn’t do it for power. You didn’t do it for glory. You brought them together to save them,” Jon says of Mance bringing together the Wildling clans.

In a second new clip, Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) is definitely a lost soul, telling her squire Podrick (Daniel Portman) that there are no good lords left to serve — and she certainly doesn’t want to be a leader. In the season-four finale, Brienne failed to get Arya (Maisie Williams) and has not located Sansa (Sophie Turner). Judging by the clip, she may be ready to give up her oath to Lady Catleyn (Michelle Fairley) to bring her daughters to safety.
Finally, there’s a new poster, which shows Tyrion (Peter Tinklage) staring straight at a dragon.
The season-five trailer has strongly suggested Tyrion will meet Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) — with Varys (Conleth Hill) telling the fugitive Lannister the Seven Kingdoms needs a “ruler loved by millions and a powerful army and the right family name.” When Tyrion says, “Good luck finding him,” Varys responds, “Who said anything about him?”
Season five premieres on April 12 on HBO.
