Lakers coach Byron Scott said guard Jeremy Lin could be making a return to the starting lineup within the next week.

Scott told InsideSoCal.com's Mark Medina that Lin could rejoin the starting lineup at shooting guard, with rookie Jordan Clarkson remaining at the point.

Lin started at point guard for the first 20 games of the season, before Scott sent him to the bench. "He’s responded better off the bench," Scott said.

Lin won't make his return to the starting lineup on Friday. Scott plans to start the same lineup as he has the past two games, with Lin coming off the bench.
