Who are the Avengers? A new TV spot for May’s Avengers: Age of Ultron introduces the main players for those who have somehow managed to avoid the Marvel Studios juggernaut up until this point.
Showcasing each of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in action, the one-minute spot opens with a nice moment identifying the power dynamic between Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man and Chris Evans‘ Captain America ahead of next year’s Captain America: Civil War, which pits the two heroes against each other. “Actually, he’s the boss,” Downey Jr. says, indicating Evans. “I just pay for everything and design everything, make everyone look cool …”
The spot features a lot of new footage, including the first time audiences hear Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s Quicksilver, and he seems every bit as smug and insufferable as his comic book incarnation. Missing from the lineup, however, is the Vision — a character (played by Paul Bettany) that has so far only been glimpsed in the final seconds of the movie’s previous trailer.
Written and directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in theaters May 1.
