The heaviest rain moves through the Sacramento Valley between Noon and 3 p.m. By early evening (5-6 p.m.) the bulk of the rain moves into the foothills with just a few lingering showers left over the valley for trick-or-treaters.
The majority of the storm from then on will be in the mountains with snow beginning in the Sierra after 6 p.m. with snow level at 6,000 ft. Snow level drops to 4,800 ft overnight but accumulations that low should be light with just a few inches at 5,000 ft.
Higher elevations near Crest of the Range could see as much as 6” – 10” by Saturday afternoon. Saturday is looking dry for the valley but a 20% chance of a lingering light shower or two cannot be ruled out through the morning and afternoon.
