FAIR OAKS-

A good Samaritan helped firefighters rescue a woman who was stuck 25 feet above ground on the bluffs near the Old Fair Oaks bridge Friday afternoon.

“People think they can get to the top, and they don’t make it, and get stuck,” Metro Fire Battalion Chief Mark Repetto said.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found Eddie Anderson had already come to the aid of the stranded woman.

FOX40 asked Anderson why he thought he could scale the bluffs to rescue her.

“I’m pretty agile. I’ve been exercising for a while, so,” Anderson said.

“We don’t really recommend that, necessarily, because then we have two victims potentially, which complicates the situation. But in this case, he was successful in keeping her calm and keeping her from falling down,” Repetto said.

The woman, who firefighters say was in her early twenties, was expected to be okay.
Anderson said he was happy to help save the woman and that she was a good person.

“It was pretty cool, I felt like a firefighter for a few. Then I shook their hands, told them thank you for their services, for helping us both off the hill,” Anderson said.
