Burglary Arrest Turns into Pot Grow Investigation

Three suspects are under arrest in connection to a burglary at a South Sacramento home. While investigating, officers discovered a large marijuana grow inside the home on Shelby Street near Bruceville Road.

At this time, it’s unknown if the marijuana found was legal or not.

No one was home during the burglary and it’s unknown if the home is occupied.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether or not the marijuana grow was what the burglars were after.

Ash Wednesday in Downtown Sacramento

The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament is celebrating Ash Wednesday in Downtown Sacramento.

An outdoor service will be held at 8:30 a.m. on the north steps of the State Capitol near 11th and L Street.

Later on, a mass will be held at the Cathedral at 12:10 p.m. on 11th and K Street.

An evening mass will also be held at 5 p.m. in front of the John Moss Federal Building on 7th and Capitol.

The services are open to those of all faiths.

CalFire Now Hiring

With a dry January and an unseasonably warm February, CalFire is starting their hiring process earlier than usual.

Taking the warm winter into consideration, CalFire wants to ensure that they will have quality firefighters to take on fire season that usually begins around mid-April.
