We are planning on an extended rafting, kayaking, and geocaching trip in August of 2017 to see the eclipse. We will be on the John Day River in central Oregon. It is an easy river that we can take the grand kids on. It also has great fishing!

We were in Mexico for the last total eclipse to hit North America in 1991. It was awesome. We have been anxiously awaiting the next one. If you miss this one, the next will be in 2024!

I was in North Dakota last month and any boat caches I could walk out to since the water in all the lakes was frozen. That would be a good time to place caches on islands and trees that are sticking out of the ice and when the water thaws then publish the hide.
