FX has set a date for the final season of Sons of Anarchy.
The motorcycle drama from creator Kurt Sutter will premiere its seventh season on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 p.m. ET/PT with a supersized episode, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The first episode will have a run time of one hour and 45 minutes.
FX will also launch a live aftershow following the premiere, Anarchy Afterword, for the first time on the network. It will also air after the series finale. Sons of Anarchy is the latest series in the aftershow trend, joining AMC’s Talking Bad (Breaking Bad) and Talking Dead (The Walking Dead), A&E’s After Hours (Bates Motel) and MTV’s Wolf Watch (Teen Wolf).

Anarchy Afterword will also stream additional episodes live on FXNow three additional times during the season, which will be available for VOD viewing until one month after the finale ends. Fans can submit questions via a toll-free number and the show’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
In the sixth season, Jax Teller has solidified his leadership by murdering Clay Morrow, but the season ends with Gemma murdering his wife, Dr. Tara Knowles. Juice Ortiz kills Sheriff Eli Roosevelt to protect Gemma. Season seven begins 10 days later, with Jax in jail on a parole violation, grappling with the loss of the woman he loved. With the club’s support, he sets in motion the brutal machinations that will lead to complete and merciless retribution.
Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal, Theo Rossi, Jimmy Smits, Drea de Matteo, Peter Weller, Niko Nicotera, David Labrava, Mark Boone Jr., Kim Coates and Tommy Flanagan star in the series.
