EL DORADO COUNTY-
A simple traffic stop of a truck leaving an evacuated neighborhood during the King Fire resulted in a big drug bust.
While conducting road closures and helping with traffic during the firefight of the King Fire, CHP officers pulled over a rental truck for a traffic infraction.
A k-9 officer helped officers find 1,000 pounds of marijuana inside the truck, resulting in felony arrests.
The truck was leaving one of the evacuated communities in El Dorado County as the King Fire burned.
The King Fire destroyed a dozen homes, and 68 other structures. It spread to more than 97,000 acres before it was 100% contained last week.
