The top 12 have been revealed on The Voice — after some struggle.
“I didn’t know they would all rise to the occasion,” admitted Pharrell Williams of his first playoffs on Tuesday night, after which America picks two from each team to move forward, and a coach picks one more, therefore sending two home. Adam Levine noted that he doesn’t have an elimination plan after Monday night’s performances, and will go with his instinct at the moment he’s forced to decide.

“The strategy days are over,” declared Blake Shelton of the current point in the competition. “It’s about bringing out the special thing about each of them to bring them to the finale.” And after that? THR cover star Gwen Stefani reminded, “They still have to put in the work after the show, this is just a platform.”
After Shelton’s singers also performed Dream Academy’s “Life in A Northern Town,” Carson Daly revealed that America saved Reagan James and Craig Wayne Boyd. Shelton then saved Jessie Pitts, eliminating James David Carter and Taylor Brashears.
Williams’ five contestants covered Sam Smith’s “Money on my Mind” (the fourth Sam Smith song on the show this week!), and Daly noted Luke Wade and DaNica Shirey collected the most viewer votes. He saved Sugar Joans, sending Elyjuh Rene and Jean Kelley home — or not, since he advised them not to take the ticket home and to instead hit up Los Angeles record labels and maximize their fresh NBC exposure.
Once Stefani singers joined on Vance Joy’s “Riptide,” Daly announced that America saved Taylor John Williams and Anita Antoinette. Stefani — nearly in tears, “I’m nursing still!” — then saved Ryan Sill, eliminating Bryana Salaz and Ricky Manning.

Following Team Adam’s performance of “Am I Wrong” by Nico & Vinz, Damien and Matt McAndrew were deemed safe from elimination. Levine saved Chris Jamison, sending Mia Pfirrmann and Taylor Phelan home.
