STOCKTON-

Detectives are on scene in Stockton where a solo driver was shot at least once, and succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.

According to the Stockton Police Department, officers received a call about the gunfire just before 1 p.m.  Then they responded to a call regarding a car through a fence at S. Monroe Street and Jefferson Street, a few blocks north of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Police say they found a silver Honda Civic plowed through the fence, and the driver had at least one gunshot wound. He was the only person in the car.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, was rushed to the hospital where he died of his injuries, according to police.

Joe Silva of the Stockton Police Department says they have neither a motive nor a suspect description, and detectives are still on the scene.
