ASPA To Host Forum on Succession Planning

ASPA Forum

What is the state of play for succession planning?

Where does it work well and how can it be done better?

How can leaders make workforce and succession planning an integral part of a management culture?

Across levels of government, recruiting and retaining talent, while planning for the future are more important than ever. Succession planning is critical to sustaining a healthy public sector even against the backdrop of turbulent financial and political crisis.

On July 15, ASPA will host its second Forum, in partnership with the International Public Management Association for Human Resources. Hear from federal, state and local experts who will discuss what agencies are doing to develop a pipeline of leaders to achieve their organizational mission and learn more about strategic—but practical—approaches to transfer knowledge to the next generation of the public sector workforce.

Launched in May, the ASPA Forums are in-person gatherings focused on critical public management topics that matter to practitioners and those in the academic community. They are sponsored by ASPA’s National Capital Area chapter and held in Washington, DC.
