CITRUS HEIGHTS –

Poker chips, cards and lots of people. Stones Gambling Hall had its grand opening in Citrus Heights Friday.

“We play poker, we play California Blackjack, we play Pai gow and obviously no slots. They can expect great table games,” owner Masis Kevorkian told FOX40.

Kevorkian has hired over 400 bartenders, waiters, valet drivers, and dealers for 30 card tables.

“We’re excited about giving back to the community,” Kevorkian said.

Major traffic delays were expected because of the grand opening. The event prompted Citrus Heights Police to be out in full force.

“We’re expecting the event to be well attended and that causes fairly significant traffic delays and congestion,” Citrus Heights Police Detective Chad Morris said.

Most casino-goers didn’t seem to have any issues with the congestion.
