In HR: A = Adoption, I = Impact.

IMPACT can happen if ADOPTION is there; ADOPTION will happen if IMPACT is noted. HR Guys, needs to understand the importance of change to adopt the new technologies to witness the impact of organizational scalability in the long run. ADOPTION and IMPACT both are co-exist to each other and much relevant in today's VUCA World.

Impact of Automation: Workers opinions - INDIA

  • 98% - Optimistic about changes technology will bring to work in next 5 years
  • 91% - Positive attitude about impact of automation on work experience in next 5 years
  • 98% - Expect part of job to be automated in next 5 years
  • 97% - Would invest free time to learn new skills to stay relevant

The definition of Automation – “To reduce the need for human work in the production and services”

The impact of Automation - When compare to Global workers opinion, India stands way ahead in terms of % and it also shows that the Indian workforce are very serious about their jobs and developing themselves to be more useful to the organization

Therefore, Leaders must understand the following:

A. How IS Technology impacting the socioemotional behaviour of employees

B. How CAN Technology impact the socioemotional behaviour of employees

Actions needed by leaders to shape and prepare the workforce

  1. Accelerate Re-skilling of people
  2. Redesign work to unlock Human Potential
  3. Strengthen the talent pipeline from its source

AI is an evolving phenomenon and AI can reproduce some of the key aspects of Human Intelligence. Many of the employees are worried about their jobs whether it will be relevant or not in coming days. Most of the jobs will become automation and new technologies like Machine Learning, Analytics, Big Data, AI, Cloud Computing, Chatbots, Digital Transformation, Cognitive Services, IOT, Robotics, etc. are HOT & Critical skills which are mandatory to learn by oneself.

As per the below %, the real danger is only 12% of the jobs which will be Replaced, whereas balance 75% will be Enhanced and 13% will be Invented in due course of time. It makes more balance…On one side there is a worry for loss of jobs by huge numbers, at the same time, due to Automation/ Digitization, etc. many jobs are created for us.

Replaced -   12%             

Enhanced -  75%                                

Invented - 13%

You need not worry. The solution is very simple. Are you aware of what Left and Right Brain does!!

  1. A person with Right Brain is said to be more Creativity, Innovation, Feelings, Intuitive, Thoughtful and Subjective.
  2. A person with Left Brain is often said to be more Logical, Analytical and Objective.
  3. The real danger is with those set of people who are weak with Left Brain and the persons who are not in danger are those with Right Brain audience.

So, you guys are aware now where to focus on…it’s on your LEFT BRAIN. Yes, you need to focus more on your left brain, improve your Logical ability, Analytical ability and be more objective in your approach so that you will be more successful and resourceful to the organization in many ways.

Model for Change:

1.    Awareness: HR needs to create the awareness among employees

2.    Desire: Needs to create a desire within the employees for a change

3.    Knowledge: Needs to give importance to Learning and Development

4.    Ability: Ability of the employee(s) is known with the above changes/ actions

5.    Reinforcement: Needs to strengthen in view of market dynamics and future focus or requirements.
