Johns Hopkins Qualified Bilingual Staff (QBS) Program
At Johns Hopkins Medicine, our mission is to improve the health of our community and the world. We set the standard of excellence in patient care. We believe that all patients have the right to communicate effectively during medical discussions with their providers and staff. Qualifying non-English language skills helps ensure safe and effective communication during medical discussions. The QBS Program works toward supporting our bilingual staff ensuring that their skills meet the required standards and by providing continual training to enhance their language skills.
PLEASE READ the instructions before completing the registration form:
I. For Current Employees: Before clicking on the Next button, ensure that you have the following information available to complete the registration form or return to this page when you do:
a. JHED ID
b. Job Title
c. Entity Name
d. Department Name
e. Full name and email address of your Supervisor
f. The QBS Program is participating in a research study to provide continual support to bilingual staff and improve processes. Please rate your language skills to the best of your judgment in the section: "Assess your non-English skills". Your self-assessment will be kept confidential; no identifying information will be shared with researchers.
II. For HR Representatives: Before clicking on the Next button, ensure that you have the following information available to complete the registration form or return to this page when you do:
a. The candidate's information
b. The candidate’s personal email address
c. The candidate’s contact information
d. The DSM code for which the candidate is being considered.
e. Whether the candidate will be a Speaker or an Interpreter
