Rachel Maddow Lays Out The Devastating Case For Trump Being A Treasonous Traitor

Rachel Maddow ran through all of the connections and strange behaviors surrounding Trump and Russia and called on America to take the blinders off because Trump is working for Russia as president against the United States.

After running through a lengthy list of inexplicable Trump/Russia connections, Rachel Maddow said:

There is no reason for any of those things. Unless you were willing to believe the worst. And who wants to believe the worst? You don’t want to think too hard about the worst-case scenario. For one thing, it raises uncomfortable questions about what we should do as a country, what we should do as citizens.

If the worst case is true. For everything that we’ve been through as a country, for every kind of trial and challenge and intrigue and embarrassment and scandal that we have been through as a nation, we haven’t ever had to reckon with the possibility that somebody has ascended to the presidency of the United States to serve the interests of another country rather than our own. What’s the corrective to that? How do you remedy that? These are no longer hypothetical questions. This is where we are and I recognize it sounds nuts to say it even now. This is a reason why there’s a big national freakout over what the president just did in public. Whatever happened in the long private meeting he insisted on taking with Vladimir Putin today with no other American officials present, whatever happened there, what happened in public thereafter has really shaken the country today.

For the worst possible reasons. Before today, no serving U.S. President has ever before taken sides with a foreign government against our own. Let alone a foreign government that has just attacked our country. If the president did that today because he has some reason to serve that country rather than our own, well then a lot that has previously been inexplicable is. Deep breath. It means we’ll have to come to terms with this as a country and we’ll have to come to terms with what we need to do next as a country to fix this. In order to do that, the blinders have to come off. We have to be real.

Maddow was correct. Everything that Republicans and too many in the mainstream media have tried to dismiss or explain away as it relates to Trump and Russia became a reality with the Trump/Putin press conference. Donald Trump is working for Russia. The concern is that he is compromised, but a much more sinister option is Trump knowingly cut a deal with Putin to betray his own country.

There is no defined immediate constitutional remedy for a treasonous president. There is no election nullification option or presidential recall election to be found.

There is only one option on the table, and that is impeachment.

Since Republicans are co-conspirators who have long ago demonstrated that they aren’t going to support their own country, it will be up to the voters to elect a new Congress and impeach this president. For practical purposes, it doesn’t really matter if Trump survives an impeachment trial. His presidency will be effectively over if he is impeached. He will be so damaged by the impeachment process that voters will elect a new president in 2020.

The process of removing a traitor from the Oval Office begins in a little more than 112 days.

It starts with the American people and ends with Donald Trump leaving the White House in disgrace.
