SHANNON COUNTY, Mo.– The Shannon County Sheriff has been charged with a misdemeanor after allegedly making counterfeit signatures on a motor vehicle registration.

Shannon County Sheriff Steven Blunkall was charged with making a false statement in ownership registration/application/ownership agreement after having another man sign a fake name onto a vehicle registration.

According to a probable cause statement, in September 2015, Sheriff Robert Blunkall submitted a title application of a 2005 River Forest trailer with the name ‘Chuck Cannon’ as the applicant.  The application that was submitted was signed by David Eldracher, who falsely signed his name as Chuck Cannon.

Blunkall knew David Eldracher was not Chuck Cannon.

In November 2015, Eldracher then signed the title over from Chuck Cannon to Blunkall, again falsely signing as Chuck Cannon.

The punishment for  making a false statement in ownership registration ranges from 15-days in jail to maximum fine of $300.

No court date has been set.
