LAWRENCE COUNTY, Mo.– One person is dead and five were injured, three seriously, after a vehicle crash Wednesday morning two miles west of Marionville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2001 Dodge Dakota was traveling westbound on Route ZZ while a 2002 Toyota Sequoia was northbound on Lawrence County Road 1210.

The driver of the Toyota Sequoia attempted a left turn onto Route ZZ and pulled into the path of the Dodge Dakota.

The vehicles collided causing both to leave the roadway. The Dodge Dakota continued to move, struck a utility pole, and fence.

Following the initial impact, the Toyota Sequoia overturned, struck a fence, and came to rest on the driver’s side. The collision killed the driver of the Toyota Sequoia.

The driver has been identified as 66-year-old Sharon Brookshire from Aurora, Mo. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The others injured, ranging in ages from six to 73-years-old, were taken to local hospitals.

This is the 67th fatality crash for the Southwest division of the MSHP, Troop D.
