Yuba County
Episode on glove factory to air on CNBC
An episode of the television show "American Greed" focused on a Sacramento man who proposed a glove factory in Yuba County that never came to be will air Thursday on CNBC.
In February, Yuba County officials were interviewed for the episode titled "Medical Gloves with Holes."
Deepal Wannakuwatte approached the county in 2012 about a proposed business. He later pleaded guilty in Sacramento to wire fraud, admitting he convinced investors and bankers into putting tens of millions of dollars into his West Sacramento medical-supply company under false pretenses.
According to its website, "American Greed" is a "true crime series examining the dark side of the American dream."
The episode is at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Thursday on Comcast Channel 38.
