Cecilia Aguiar-Curry – a farmer, businesswoman and the first woman Mayor of the City of Winters – has been endorsed by Yolo County Supervisor Don Saylor, in her General Election bid for Assembly District 4.
“I have worked side by side with Cecilia Aguiar-Curry on many local issues and seen firsthand her commitment to the communities in District 4. Cecilia has been tireless in preserving open space and securing our water future. She understands our local ag economy and what it needs to be successful. She will be a powerful voice for ag and rural communities in the Assembly and has my full support,” said Supervisor Don Saylor in announcing his endorsement.
Cecilia, a Democrat, is running to replace Bill Dodd in the seat he is vacating in order to run for Senate. The 4th Assembly District includes all of Napa and Lake counties, most of Yolo, and portions of Solano, Sonoma and Colusa counties.

I campaigned with you and competed for representation for the 4th Assembly seat. We agreed the oil money and the charter school funding for Cecilia’s campaign was unbeatable. You stated publicly you would not accept this. You pointed out Cecilia’s shortcoming in the affair.
And wait-just because she is a registered Democrat you publish this?
Come on Don-she is not a Farmer!

For anyone considering whether or not to vote for Cecelia Aguilar-Curry, I recommend that you speak with her directly and consider her actual positions rather than relying on her party affiliation or who is supporting / endorsing her. You may come to very different conclusions as I did.
I have spoken to her at the Farmer’s Market and she seemed quite reasonable. Is she running unopposed?
She’s running against Charlie Schaupp, who finished first as the only Republican candidate in a field of several Democrats. But given the district’s heavy registration for Democrats relative to Republicans, it is likely that Aguiar-Curry will win.
