Local Project - Isolation and Quarantine Laws

Quarantine and isolation laws are used to separate ill or healthy people who were potentially exposed to communicable agents from the rest of the population. These laws exist at the state and local levels and establish protocols for issuing quarantine or isolation orders, how long and under what conditions those orders last, and what may be the target of these orders. For local public health departments, orders may apply to geographic areas outside of their jurisdiction or their orders may have establish different protocols depending on the disease or condition. This dataset includes state and local laws for Chicago, IL; Multnomah County, OR; San Diego County, CA; Tulsa, OK; and Washington, DC.
