UPDATE: The sheriff’s department reports the man has been found safe.

SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help finding a man who went missing near his home on Sandrock Way in South Sacramento.

Daniel Chi, 34, was last seen by his family, leaving his home about 5 a.m. on Friday. He was reported missing by his family Sunday.

Chi is considered at-risk because of his diminished mental capacity and because he has never gone missing before, police said.

Chi is described as an Asian man with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet tall, weighs about 90 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes. He may be carrying a blue backpack.

Chi does not drive, but he walks or takes public transit. He is known to frequent West Sacramento.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this missing person is asked to call the sheriff’s department at (916) 874-5115.
