Pancakes and Election Discussion — this Saturday!

P&P-2

Got the 11-propositions-on-the-ballot blues?  Like pancakes?  Join us for a Davis tradition of a pancake feed & fall election discussion topped with real maple syrup!

At Pancakes & Politics, we discuss all the issues and offices on the upcoming ballot so that we may all vote smarter by having access to multiple brains, as opposed to the conflicting arguments in the voter guide and political ads, a news release said. It’s a great chance to meet other local people who care about politics and the world we’re living in.  While we take voting seriously, we also have a great deal of fun with it.

Pancakes and Politics (P&P) asks each participant to look into just one issue or office on the ballot — we provide informative web links.  All political persuasions are welcome.  When you come, present both sides, give us your take if you’d like, and then we’ll discuss as a group.  P&P asks that participants consider a proposition/office they aren’t as familiar with so we learn something about everything.  P&P aims to be fun, tasty and fully informing rather than politics as usual:  dry talking-points, spin, and no syrup.

The gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29th, at the N Street Co-Housing Community House, 716 N Street.  Bring a favorite vegetarian breakfast item for potluck. We’ll start cooking at 10:00 a.m.; the discussion and eating begins promptly at 11:00am.  P&P also seeks volunteers for setup, take-down, and frying.  To match yourself with a ballot item, food item or to help out, contact April at:   <pancakes.politics.davis@gmail.com>
