88-year-old Springfield man drowns in Pomme De Terre Lake

A Springfield man fell overboard the boat he was in at Pomme De Terre Lake in Polk County Friday morning and drowned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Donald G. Tidwell, 88, was reportedly not wearing a life jacket when he fell overboard near the Bolivar landing.

The boat was found floating near the landing, the report said, and was not operating under power.
