Summery Sunday the start of a few good beach days

Happy Sunday.

Unlike last week, we can expect a summery start on Sunday, as storm Jose fades out to sea, breezes diminish and a high pressure system covers the region, according to the National Weather Service.

That high pressure system will drive our weather for the early part of this week, making for good beach weather if you still can't put summer behind you. Just beware of rough surf in the wake of Jose. Sunday will be sunny, with highs in the Providence area of around 85, dropping down to 63 at night.

Monday, like Sunday, will have highs around 88, along with light winds of around 6 mph by the afternoon, turning partly cloudy by evening, with areas of fog and lows around 65.

After morning fog burns off on Tuesday, it will be sunny and around 83 degrees. Ditto for Wednesday before a cold front moves in, bringing a chance of showers on Wednesday night and into Thursday.

At this point, Hurricane Maria approaches for late in the week, but at this point it is expected to move well southeast of New England, the weather service says.
