MUMBAI:
As a first of
its
kind initiative, Mumbai will gets its first
E-Waste
drop-off
centre
in Bandra West (Shop no 25, 1st floor, Kenilworth Phase II, linking road). Under the campaign “E-Waste wise”, run by the
NGO OASIS
and Sony Music, the
drop-off
center will give people an opportunity to collect their
E-waste
and drop off the same at this
centre
at a time and date convenient to them. “We often hear from people that they don’t know what to do with their E-waste and this comes as a perfect answer for the same,” says Puja Sukhija, Head OASIS NGO.

All the
E-waste
collected will be given to ECS Environment, a registered company for collection of
E-waste
in India.
India is the fifth largest producer of
E-waste
and the rising level of the same has been a matter of concern. OASIS NGO has been working towards a green environment with Sony Music for over a year with the objective of spreading awareness on the harmful effects of
E-waste
amongst different sections of society.
The
E-waste
drop-off centre
is one of the steps taken to help curb the growing menace.
