Mariah Carey has bounced back from her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance with a new single, “I Don’t,” featuring YG. Dubbed “an anthem for women overcoming harsh breakups,” the Jermaine Dupri-produced track is anything but a love song. Instead, it finds a fired up pop star looking back with a tinge of regret as she sings about her past lover. At the same time, it’s clear she’s empowering herself (and perhaps other women) along the way. Paired with YG’s contributions, it’s a delicate balance of R&B laced pop and rap. Listen above.
