Kendrick Lamar’s critically acclaimed fourth studio album, DAMN.,has been out less than a month, but is already certified platinum, according to a tweet from Interscope Records. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) deems an album platinum after it has sold over one million units. The 14-track project has topped the Billboard 200 charts for the past two weeks.

The Compton MC released the album on April 14 after a full week of anticipation. Many fans speculated K.Dot was dropping a new project on April 7 after he mentioned the date at the end of “The Heart Pt. 4,” but they were clearly crushed when it turned out to be simply another announcement.
