Emily Anne Belfer and Dr. Raphael Judah Rosen are to be married Aug. 13 at the Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh, N.J. Rabbi Ezra Schwartz is to officiate.

The bride, 30, is an associate in Manhattan at the law firm Day Pitney. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received both a master’s degree in medieval Jewish history and a law degree from Yeshiva University in New York.

She is a daughter of Dr. Michelle Friedman and Benjamin S. Belfer of Manhattan. Her father is the managing director of investor relations and business development at Moerus Capital Management in Manhattan. Her mother is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst and an associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. She is also the founder of the department of pastoral counseling at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in the Bronx.

The groom, 28, is a resident in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He graduated magna cum laude from Columbia, where he also received his medical degree.

He is a son of Amy R. Rosen and Dr. Harold N. Rosen of Newton, Mass. His mother is the director of student life at the Maimonides Upper School in Brookline, Mass. His father, an endocrinologist, is the director of the Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

The couple met through mutual friends in September 2016 in Manhattan.
