Ariana Judith Torchin and Vivek Kartik Mohan were married Aug. 12 at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York. Susan Turchin, an interfaith minister, officiated the ceremony, which incorporated Jewish wedding traditions after a traditional Vedic ceremony.

The bride, 37, is counsel in the asset management unit of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s division of enforcement. She works in San Francisco. She graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia and received a law degree magna cum laude from Georgetown.

She is a daughter of Eleanor Torchin and Arnold Torchin of Belle Harbor, N.Y. The bride’s mother retired as an educational evaluator for the New York City Department of Education’s committee on special education. Her father retired as a math teacher at Beach Channel High School in Queens, where he was also the coach of the girls’ tennis team.

The groom, 30, is senior privacy and cybersecurity counsel at Apple in Cupertino, Calif., where he focuses on products, services and infrastructure. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley and received a law degree from Columbia.

He is a son of Sandhya Mohan and Mahal Mohan of Saratoga, Calif. His father is a vice president at Xoriant, a software development and technology services company, in Sunnyvale, Calif. The groom’s mother retired as the vice president of quality at Acorda Therapeutics, a biotechnology company, in the South San Francisco office.

The couple met in 2014 while working at the law firm Sidley Austin.
