Before and after swimming. 5 minutes.

How to keep your hair healthy while swimming daily.

  1. Get your hair wet before swimming.Your hair is like a sponge, and can only soak up so much water. Getting your hair wet in the shower makes it harder for the swimming pool water to get into your hair.
  2. Wear a swimming cap.A swimming cap acts as a physical barrier between the pool water and your hair. It’s not a foolproof solution to keeping the chlorinated water off of your hair, but it helps.
  3. Swimmers’ Shampoo, for Swimmers’ Hair.Use swimming-specific products like Goodbye Chlorine’s shampoos and conditioners after swimming. They are highly effective at removing chlorine.
  4. Finish with styling products made for swimmers. These products will remove any residual chlorine left on your hair from the previous steps and keep your hair looking good all day long.

Hair Care for Swimmers: Expert advice for people who swim every day.

swimmer hair care

Goodbye Chlorine manufactures anti-chlorine products for swimmers’ hair and skin. Click here to see our entire product line, or our buyer’s guide.

Listen to the audio version of this article.

How can I protect my hair while swimming everyday?

These three steps will protect your hair from chlorine while swimming every day:

  • Soak your hair in the shower. Your hair is like a sponge. If you wet your hair before swimming, it will soak up the shower water making it harder for the chlorinated swimming pool water to get in.
  • Use an anti-chlorine conditioner. If you use an anti-chlorine conditioner like this one before swimming, it will help keep the chlorine off your hair.
  • Wear a swimming cap. Latex swimming caps act as a physical barrier between your hair and the swimming pool water. It won’t completely keep your hair dry, but it will help keep the water from continually washing through your hair.

How do you keep your hair healthy after swimming?

There are two things yo need to do to keep your hair healthy after swimming:

  • Get the chlorine off of your hair. Chlorine damages your hair. It’s important to get it off immediately after swimming.
  • Hydrate your hair. Chlorine damages your hair by drying it out. Returning moisture to your hair is critical to keeping it healthy after swimming.

Our anti-chlorine conditioners both remove chlorine and return moisture lost to chlorine exposure. If you want more chlorine-removing power first use our shampoo. Keep in mind our anti-chlorine shampoo is highly effective and we recommend using it sparingly as needed after swimming. If you have very difficult hair, you may want to try adding our anti-chlorine spray which is our strongest chlorine-removing product.

We also make anti-chlorine styling products like a leave-in conditioner and hair wax. These products will remove any residual chlorine you may have missed in the shower and help keep your hair looking great all day long.

See our recommendations here.

How do I take care of my hair if I swim every day?

Preventing chlorine from damaging your hair is the best thing you can do to keep your hair healthy if you swim every day. Wet your hair before swimming, then use an anti-chlorine conditioner underneath a swimming cap. This is the best way to prevent chlorine from damaging your hair. Of course it’s impossible to completely keep the chlorine off your hair while swimming, so using an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming will remove chlorine and condition your hair.

If you need more chlorine-removing power consider using an anti-chlorine shampoo or spray in combination with a conditioner

See our recommendations here.

How can I keep my hair safe from chlorine?

If you swim every day, there isn’t an iron-clad way to keep your hair safe from the chlorine. Do these three things to prevent chlorine from washing through your hair:

  • Get your hair wet before swimming. You hair is like a sponge and can only soak up so much water. By getting your hair wet before swimming it makes it harder for the swimming pool water to get in.
  • Use an anti-chlorine conditioner. Apply an anti-chlorine conditioner to your hair before swimming (and make sure to wear a swimming cap). The anti-chlorine conditioner will help keep the chlorine off of your hair.
  • Wear a swimming cap. A latex swimming cap acts as a physical barrier between your hair and the swimming pool water. It won’t keep you hair completely dry, but it will help to keep the swimming pool water from continually washing over your hair.

After swimming, the most important thing is to get the residual chlorine off of your hair. Chlorine is drying and repeated exposure to chlorine will damage your hair. First try using an anti-chlorine conditioner and if you need more chlorine-removing power consider using a shampoo or spray

See our recommendations here.

How do swimmers keep care of their hair?

Avid swimmers know how damaging chlorine is to their hair. Repeated exposure to chlorine will make your hair dry and crunchy. It’s important to get the chlorine off of your hair immediately after swimming. Anti-chlorine conditioners and anti-chlorine leave-in conditioners are the best products to use after swimming.

These kinds of products will remove chlorine and nourish your hair. Consider using other products like anti-chlorine shampoo or anti-chlorine spray if you need more chlorine-removing power.

See our recommendations here.

How do swimmers keep their hair healthy?

Avid swimmers with healthy hair do two things:

  • First, they protect their hair while swimming by wearing a latex swimming cap.
  • Secondly, they remove the chlorine from their hair immediately after swimming.

Repeated exposure to chlorine will make your hair dry and brittle. Keeping the chlorine off is the only way to keep it healthy.

Is pool water bad for hair?

Yes, chlorinated pool water is bad for your hair. Chlorine is alkaline, which makes the outermost layer of your hair (cuticle) rise. This in turn exposes the oils that protect your hair shaft to the chlorine. The chlorine then dries out your hair shaft making your hair brittle.

Does chlorine ruin your hair?

Repeated and prolonged exposure to chlorine will ruin your hair if you don’t properly care for it. Swimmers will protect their hair from chlorine by wearing a swimming cap, and remove the chlorine immediately after swimming.

What happens if you don’t wash your hair after swimming?

If you swim one time, and don’t wash your hair you probably won’t notice much difference. If you swim frequently, however, and don’t wash your hair then your hair will become dry and brittle.

Swimmers’ Hair: A deep-dive into shampoos and conditioners.

swimmers hair care

Goodbye Chlorine manufactures anti-chlorine products for swimmers’ hair and skin. Click here to see our entire product line, or our buyer’s guide.

Listen to the audio version of this article.

UPDATE: This post ended up being a lot more about conditioners than shampoos. In brief: We recommend most people try using only an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming. If you need more chlorine-removing power, try using an anti-chlorine shampoo and conditioner together.

What is the best shampoo to get the chlorine out of hair?

Shampoo that is made for removing chlorine is the best for getting chlorine out of your hair. Goodbye Chlorine makes four strengths of chlorine-removing shampoo fit for your purpose:

ELITE – for elite athletes who are in the swimming pool more than 5 times per week .
Goodbye Chlorine – for fitness fanatics who are in the swimming pool up to 5 times per week.
Swimmer Kids – for kids who love to swim.
Protect – for health nuts who want extra protection from chlorine.

These shampoos are highly effective at removing chlorine. It is recommended to use these products sparingly as needed. Use in combination with other products such as rinse-out and leave-in conditioners.

What is good shampoo for removing chlorine?

Look for shampoos made specifically for swimmers. These products have ingredients that reduce and remove chlorine. Our shampoos are highly effective at removing chlorine. We recommend you use them sparingly and as needed after swimming.

Does clarifying shampoo remove chlorine?

Clarifying shampoos do remove chlorine, but not nearly as well as products made for this purpose. Clarifying shampoos use ingredients that are made to remove product buildup, and mineral deposits on the hair. Chlorine, however, is a special beast. It forms a strong bond with your hair and instead of trying to strip it away, it’s better to use products that reduce chlorine and wash it away.

Our shampoos are highly effective at removing chlorine. It is recommended you use them sparingly and only as needed.

Should I shampoo after swimming?

We recommend you use products such as a swimming-specific conditioner every time after swimming. These products gently remove chlorine and add some moisture back to your hair that was lost to the chlorine exposure. Use anti-chlorine shampoos sparingly and as needed, but not necessarily after every time you swim. Our shampoos are highly effective at removing chlorine. Check out our recommendations here.

Should I wash my hair everyday after swimming?

We recommend most people use a conditioner made for swimmers every time after swimming. The reason is, the chlorinated swimming pool water is great at cleaning your hair, but it also drys it out. So the problem after swimming isn’t clean hair. The problem is chlorinated, dry hair.Anti-Chlorine Conditioners remove chlorine and moisturize your hair, so generally, this is the best solution.

Shampoos by their nature are drying, so we recommend first using an anti-chlorine conditioner and use an anti-chlorine shampoo sparingly and only as needed.

Do swimmers wash their hair every day?

Swimmers use anti-chlorine conditioners more than shampoos. Swimming pool chlorine both cleans and drys out your hair. For this reason, swimmers need products that remove chlorine and add moisture back into their hair. Avid swimmers reach for anti-chlorine conditioners because it solves both these problems.

We recommend using our anti-chlorine conditioner as the go-to product after swimming. Our shampoos are highly effective at removing chlorine and recommend using them sparingly and only as needed.

Do you have to wash your hair after the pool?

Chlorine is damaging to your hair and it is important to get it out after swimming. Most people think they should get a shampoo, but we recommend most people try an anti-chlorine conditioner first.

Think of it this way: Chlorine is a great sanitizer, so when you are swimming, you become super clean.

After swimming your hair has two problems:

1. Chlorine has stuck to it.
2. Chlorine has dried it out.

So you should use a product that both removes chlorine and adds moisture back into your hair. For these reasons, we recommend using an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming.

Our anti-chlorine shampoos are highly effective at removing chlorine. We recommend using them sparingly and only as needed. For most people, using only an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming is a perfect solution.

Why does my hair feel sticky after swimming?

Chlorine is alkaline, and makes your hair cuticle rise. This makes your hair feel rough and “sticky” and hard to comb through. It’s important to remove the chlorine after swimming and replace the moisture lost to chlorine damage. We recommend trying an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming, or possibly an anti-chlorine shampoo and conditioner.

How do you get rid of sticky hair after swimming?

To get rid of sticky hair after swimming, first remove the chlorine and then lower the pH of your hair by using a pH balancing conditioner. Our anti-chlorine conditioners manage both these problems.

Does apple cider vinegar remove chlorine from hair?

Apple cider vinegar does not remove chlorine, but don’t be discouraged, read on.

Most people like to use apple cider vinegar because it makes their hair feel smooth. Using apple cider vinegar virtually eliminates split ends and fly-away hair. This is because apple cider vinegar is acidic (has a low pH). Your hair cuticle lift when exposed to alkaline substances like chlorine, this is why your hair feels rough after swimming. Acid washes make your hair cuticle lie flat. This is why your hair feels smooth after using a vinegar rinse.

After swimming, try using an anti-chlorine conditioner to remove chlorine and add some moisture back into your hair. Then after using the anti-chlorine conditioner, use an apple cider vinegar rinse. This is a terrific combination after swimming.

How do you wash your hair after swimming?

We recommend using an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming. The act of swimming does a great job of cleaning your hair. But there are two side effects:

1. Chlorine has stuck to your hair.
2. Chlorine has stripped oil from your hair (dried it out).

The thing to do after swimming, is to solve these two problems. Our anti-chlorine conditioners do both. They remove chlorine and add moisture back into your hair. Most swimmers will find that using an anti-chlorine conditioner after swimming is a good hair care solution. Swimmers who need a more aggressive solution may need to use an anti-chlorine shampoo in combination with an anti-chlorine conditioner.

Swimming Caps

If you’ve been to a swimming pool, you’ve probably seen a variety of swimming caps. Have you wondered why people wear them, what they are for and if you should be wearing one too?

In this article, we take a look at all aspects of swimming caps and answer your most pressing questions.

Why do swimmers wear caps?

Primarily, swimmers wear swimming caps to protect their hair from the chlorine in the swimming pool water. However, some public swimming pools require swimmers to wear swimming caps. Swimmers may also wear swimming caps to help keep them warm in cold water. Swimmers who compete wear them to make their body more hydrodynamic (streamlined), thus it makes them faster.

Do swimming caps keep your hair dry?

Swimming caps are not waterproof and will not keep your hair dry. No matter how hard you try, water will get in. Some elite swimmers wear two caps, but for different reason, even double-capping it won’t keep your hair dry. This product claims to “help[ing] to keep your hair dry”, but it looks suspiciously similar to double-capping it which definitely isn’t a waterproof solution.

If you swim holding your head above water, then a swimming cap will keep water from splashing on your hair. Otherwise, as soon as you put your head underwater, the swimming pool water will get your hair wet.

How do I keep my hair from getting wet in the pool?

If you put your head underwater, then your hair will get wet even if you are wearing a swimming cap. The only way to keep your hair dry is to keep your head above water while wearing a swimming cap. Even so, it is nearly impossible to keep your hair completely dry. Our advice is just relax and get wet–it’s a swimming pool!

Are there waterproof swim caps?

There are no waterproof swimming caps.

What is the best material for swim caps?

The most common material for swimming caps is latex followed by silicone. You may also find swimming caps made from lycra/spandex, rubber, neoprene, and polyurethane.

How long do swim caps last?

Swimming caps last from one month to three years depending on the material they are made from, how often you use them, and how well you care for them.

A swimmer who is in the swimming pool 8 or 9 times a week wearing a latex cap, may get a month or two use from the cap if they dry and powder the cap after each use.

Should swimming caps cover the ears?

It’s a personal preference whether you cover your ears with a swimming cap or not.

Do you put a swimming cap on with wet or dry hair?

It’s easier to put on a cap when your hair is wet as the water provides some lubricant. Here is an instructional video that covers the basics of putting on a swimming cap. Here is a funny video if you like.

Why do swimmers wear two caps?

Competitive swimmers wear two swimming caps to help secure their goggles and to make them more streamlined. The goggle strap is sandwiched between the two caps, making it less likely that their goggles fall off in a start. Also, they may use a thicker material such as silicone on the outside layer which is less likely to wrinkle making them a little faster through the water.

Is wearing a swimming cap necessary?

Some public swimming pools require swimmers to wear swimming caps. Otherwise wearing a swimming cap is a personal preference. People who swim often generally do wear a swimming cap because it helps protect their hair from the swimming pool chlorine.

Swimmers’ Hair and Skin Care: Recommendations, Tips and Deals

swimmers hair, skin care

Goodbye Chlorine manufactures anti-chlorine products for swimmers’ hair and skin. Click here to see our entire product line, or our buyer’s guide.

Listen to the audio version of this article.

Who is this for?

If you’ve arrived to this page, you are probably wondering how to remove chlorine from your body and hair. If so, you’ve found the right place.

We are experts at removing chlorine and on this page we will give you our product recommendations, tips and tell you how to purchase our products at the best discount.

Chlorine is Sanitizing and Damaging

Chlorine is sanitizing and drying. After prolonged and repeated exposure, it will damage your hair and skin. How much chlorine irritates you depends on how sensitive you are to it. For instance, if you have light blonde and fine hair, the chlorine may turn your hair a greenish tint. Or you may have sensitive skin, and exposure to chlorine will cause you to develop a rash. This condition is commonly known as “chlorine rash”.

Because everyone is a little different, there’s not a one-size-fits-all solution to dealing with chlorine. In this article we will give you all of our best information, so you can make a good decision about which products will work for you.

Recommendations for your Body

  1. Shower Gel – Our shower gel is perfect for gently removing chlorine from your body after swimming. This product works well for most people and is our most sought after product. It gently removes the chlorine that has stuck to you while swimming. You will notice after using this product you no longer smell like chlorine which is proof the chlorine is gone.
  2. Lotion – Chlorine drys out your skin and our lotion returns this lost moisture to your skin. It also contains chlorine neutralizing agents in case you missed some spots in the shower. If you have problems with dry skin after swimming, you’ll love our lotion.
  3. Soap – We recommend using our soap at home between swims. Our soap is highly emollient (moisturizing) and washes off easily. It contains chlorine neutralizing ingredients to make sure the chlorine stays off.
  4. Spray – If you have super-sensitive skin and want our strongest chlorine neutralizing product, then our anti-chlorine spray is for you. It can be used on your hair and skin before showering. Rinse off before using our other products.

Recommendations for your Hair

  1. Conditioner – This is the product we recommend for everybody and this single product works well for most people. Yes it may seem a little weird not using shampoo after swimming, but consider this: Your hair has already been cleaned by the chlorine, and you’ve lost lots of moisture. What you need is to very gently remove the chlorine and return some of the lost moisture to your hair. Our conditioner does all of this. We recommend first trying only our conditioner after swimming and see how it works for you.
  2. Styling Protectant / Leave-in Conditioner – If the chlorine really dries out your hair or if you use heat to style your hair, then you may consider our styling protectant and leave-in conditioner. It can also be used as a pre-treatment before swimming if you wear a latex cap.
  3. Putty – If you use a hair wax or hair gel, then you may consider using our hair putty. It is a strong hold hair wax that also contains chlorine neutralizing ingredients. The big bonus to this product is that it also adds some oils back into your hair and keeps it looking healthy and feeling good. A pro tip: it can also be used as a pre-treatment before swimming if you wear a latex cap.
  4. Shampoo – Ours is a highly-specialized shampoo that removes chlorine in the most difficult hair. Our shampoo isn’t for everyone, but if your hair doesn’t play well with chlorine and you need to get it out, then consider using our shampoo. If you are more of a ‘normal’ hair person, then try using only our conditioner.
  5. Spray – This is our strongest chlorine removing product. If the chlorine turns your hair green, or if chlorine causes severe damage to your hair you may consider using our spray, then follow with our conditioner and possibly our styling protectant.

Prevent Chlorine From Damaging Your Hair

The old saying goes: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. And it’s true. Although there is no foolproof way to keep chlorine off your hair, these tips will help minimize the damage.

  1. Tap Water – Before swimming soak your hair in the shower. You hair will absorb the shower water and make it much harder for the pool water to get in. Think of your hair like a sponge. Once your hair absorbs this water it’s much less likely that more will get in. And yes, shower water does have chlorine in it, but much less than the pool water.
  2. Pre-treatment – After wetting your hair, apply our anti-chlorine conditioner, styling protectant, or hair putty. These products will all help to create a barrier to the pool water. Don’t bother with this step if you don’t wear a latex swimming cap.
  3. Latex Swimming Cap – Wear a latex swimming cap. It acts as a physical barrier and helps keep the swimming pool water away from your hair. This won’t completely keep the pool water out, but it willreduce the amount of pool water that gets on your hair.

Shampoo for Swimmers’ Hair: What elite swimmers use.

shampoo swimmer

Goodbye Chlorine manufactures shampoo for swimmers’ hair and other anti-chlorine products made for swimmers. Click here to see our entire product line, or our buyer’s guide.

Listen to the audio version of this article.

You may be swimming 3 or 4 times a week and wondering how elite swimmers who are in the pool 9 to 12 times per week manage all of the chlorine exposure? The typical portrayal of swimmers with slim bodies, wide shoulders and frizzy hair is nearly accurate. It used to be that they had frizzy hair. Now they are able to keep their hair looking healthy because of some innovative products made for them like our shampoo for swimmers’ hair.

Click to see all of our shampoo or our shampoo made for elite swimmers. Otherwise, keep reading for more detailed information.

Of course we’d all agree that chlorine is a good thing as long as it’s in the swimming pool making our water safe and clean. The problems with chlorine begin once we get out of the pool.

Have you notice that your swimsuit color fades quickly? Or your skin feels dry after swimming? Or your hair dries out and feels crunchy? These are all positive proof that chlorine exists in the swimming pool. Did you need proof other than the smell of chlorine?

Speaking of smell, you also probably noticed that you smelled like chlorine hours after swimming. This smell is chlorine that has transferred onto your hair and skin. Chlorine forms a tight bond with your body, and is quite difficult to get off without the right products.

You may have tried extra long showers or even washing two or three times, but the chlorine just has a way of sticking around. You may have even thought that chlorine could be the reason that you give up the sport completely.

Don’t fret. It used to be that willpower alone was the only way to beat chlorine, but now there are products that make quick work of it.

Dry crunchy hair (and quick color fading), otherwise known as “swimmers’ hair” is caused by chlorine. The alkaline water makes your hair cuticle lift exposing your hair shaft and causing your hair to feel rough. The chlorine can then attach to your hair shaft which strips the natural oils from your hair causing it to become brittle.

In order to return your hair to the way it was before you were swimming, shampoo for swimmers’ hair needs to do two things:

  1. Remove the chlorine, and
  2. Return you hair to its normal pH.

All of our products remove chlorine. More technically speaking, they reduce the chlorine and then gently wash it away. Our shampoo for swimmers’ hair is made to rebalance the pH of your hair and help it return to it’s natural balance.

If you want to get rid of the damaging effects of chlorine after swimming, it’s important to use swimming-specific products like Goodbye Chlorine.

Our shampoo works well with our hair conditioner and we offer them in a value bundle.

If you are unsure which brand to buy, please see our buyer’s guide.

Swimmers’ Shampoo: Products avid swimmers use to win the battle against chlorine.

swimmers shampoo, products swimmers use

Goodbye Chlorine manufactures swimmers’ shampoo and other anti-chlorine products for swimmers’ hair and skin. Click here to see our entire product line, or our buyer’s guide.

Listen to the audio version of this article.

Swimmers’ shampoo is one of the go-to products avid swimmers use to win the battle against chlorine. Read on and we’ll show you two great swimmers’ shampoos as well as some other products you may want to try.

Does your hair feel dry and crunchy? Are you wondering how some avid swimmers are able to keep their hair looking terrific while yours looks like the stereotypical “swimmers’ hair”? Maybe you’ve thought to yourself, “They have magic hair that looks beautiful no matter what happens to it?”

You’ve come to the right place. No, these swimmers don’t have magic hair. Read on and learn how you can keep your hair looking good AND be an avid swimmers as well.

Chlorine is the most widely used sanitizer for swimming pools. It’s inexpensive and effective. One one hand it’s great at keeping our swimming pool water clean, on the other hand it damages swimmers’ hair and skin.

It’s the negative side of chlorine that swimmers have to battle with. The lingering chlorine odor, the drying effects of chlorine that causes crunchy hair and dry skin are the things you have probably experienced.

First and foremost, we make products that neutralize chlorine. Some products attempt to use harsh chemicals to strip the chlorine away from your hair and skin, but we’ve taken a different approach. Instead, we use ingredients that reduce chlorine and gently wash it away. It’s a better approach because the swimming pool contains enough chemicals without having to deal with more harsh chemicals once you get out of it.

Chlorine Damages Your Hair

Chlorine is a harsh chemical and swimming pools are slightly alkaline. This wreaks havoc with your hair. First the alkaline environment causes your hair follicle to lift. This exposes the shaft of your hair to the chlorinated water. The chlorine can then wash over and attach to your hair shaft and strips away the natural oils of your hair. This combination causes what is called “swimmers’ hair”. When your hair is in this condition, it feels rough and breaks easily.

The dry, brittle and crunchy hair is what the stereotypical swimmer looks like. But it’s not necessary to look like that anymore.

Our Swimmers’ Shampoo Gently Removes Chlorine

Our swimmers’ shampoo contains the chlorine neutralizing ingredients as we mentioned before, and is made to be very gentle so it won’t create any further damage to your hair. If you follow with our swimmers’ conditioner and swimmers’ styling products you will find that your hair will stay looking and feeling great no matter how often you swim.

Here are two products that are great for swimmers. Use the ELITE line if you are swimming more than 5 times a week and the Goodbye Chlorine line if you are swimming up to 5 times a week. They are very similar products, but the ELITE line is made for people who are in the swimming pool more frequently. See our buyer’s guide to view all of our product brands.

Chlorine: The Silent Assassin

chlorine silent killer

Swimming World’s college intern Olivia McKelvey raises the question: Is Chlorine Hurting Swimmers More than it is Helping Them?

Her conclusion is there are some real and at least annoying health consequences of swimming, but the health benefits outweigh the problems. Avid swimmers have dealt with these issues since the use of chlorine in swimming pools.

She outlines three issues: 1. Asthma or “Chlorine Cough”, 2. Dry skin and 3. Decaying teeth.

Here’s an interesting excerpt from her article, “One particular study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that swimmers are at a higher risk for bronchial hyperactivity (also known as asthma) when they are exposed to chloramines. In fact, other statistics estimate that one-third of all elite swimmers have full-blown asthma, 80 percent of which began after they took up swimming.”

You can read her article in full below.

https://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/the-silent-assassin-is-chlorine-hurting-swimmers-more-than-it-is-helping-them/

One of the most common problems swimmers deal with is dry, itchy skin (or sometimes called “chlorine rash”). People with especially sensitive skin will notice it the most, but everyone who swims must deal with dry skin to some extent or another.

Can you smell chlorine on your skin hours after swimming and does your skin feel dry and itchy? Yep, that’s the chlorine. Of course we are all super happy that the chlorine is in the pool, but let’s leave it in the swimming pool after we are finished swimming.

How do elite swimmers deal with this day in an day out? They use specialized products that remove chlorine. Goodbye Chlorine manufactures high quality products made just for swimmers. Our products instantly removes chlorine and is made to keep you feeling and looking amazing.

Take a look at our buyer’s guide here if you are unsure about which brand to buy. We make products depending on how often you are in the pool.

Our ELITE products are made for swimmers who are in the pool more than 5 times a week:

Chlorine makes your hair and skin dry

If you’re swimming, you’re most likely swimming in a chlorinated swimming pool. It’s by far the most used method of sanitizing swimming pool and is very effective. That sanitizing effect, however, has it’s side effects. The most common complaint of avid swimmers is they have dry hair and skin (and smell like chlorine).

You’re not alone if you’ve been a frequent swimmer and have noticed your hair and skin becoming dry. “Swimmer’s hair” or dry, brittle and crunchy hair is a common swimmer stereotype not to mention that swimmers often smell like the same chlorinated swimming pool they use. What’s also common but not talked about as much is dry skin.

Chlorine irritates the skin of many swimmers. Some people call this “chlorine rash”. Whatever you call it: a rash, eczema, or dry skin, it’s terribly uncomfortable. Dry, itchy skin caused by chlorine can drive you crazy.

So here is what happens. Chlorine bonds to organic matter. This is how it sanitizes the water. And guess what? You are large organic matter. It follows then, that when you jump into the pool, chlorine bonds to you.

This chlorine bond s not easy to break. Have you ever thought that to get the chlorine off you will just take a longer, more thorough shower? And were you disappointed by the results? Of course, because chlorine forms a strong bond with your hair and skin. It has a way of just hanging around. The proof that chlorine is still on you is that you smell like the swimming pool long after getting out of it.

The proof that chlorine is still on you is that you smell like the swimming pool long after getting out of it.

Frustrating indeed. Instead of taking super long showers, what you need are products designed to release the chlorine bond and gently wash away the left over chemicals.
