Brand New have cancelled their remaining tour dates following allegations against Jesse Lacey of sexual misconduct with a minor. “Due to the events of the last few days, Brand New will be postponing it's upcoming three shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland,” the band wrote on Facebook. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. In a public Facebook post last week (which has since been deleted), a woman named Nicole Elizabeth Garey wrote that Lacey “solicited nudes from [her] starting when [she] was 15 and he was 24.” Lacey released a statement admitting that he “hurt people, mistreated them, lied, and cheated.” He did not specifically address the accusations of sexual misconduct and solicitation of explicit photos.

Saturday morning, Martha, who were slated to open for Brand New in London and Glasgow, dropped out of the shows after allegations initially surfaced. “Support survivors always,” the band tweeted. Another supporting artist, Kevin Devine, released a statement backing out of shows and saying, “I believe that it is critically important to really listen to & hear people who speak out about abuse of power & sexual misconduct.”
