MBA Impact Investing Network & Training (MIINT) is an experiential lab designed to give students at business and graduate schools a hands-on education in impact investing. It is an initiative of Bridges Impact Foundation, and is conducted in partnership with the Wharton Social Impact Initiative. The MIINT program has become a leading experiential education platform that trains the next generation of impact investors. The MIINT has brought together over 2,500 students at 30 top business schools into a growing network of students and practitioners focused on impact investing.

Graduate student teams pitch existing social ventures to a panel of investors and compete to win $50,000 for their represented company. Teams that go through several training modules such as, Formulating an Investment Thesis, Sourcing Early Stage Impact Investments, and more. Each team works closely with advisors but also has access to a network of support through MIINT. Teams work through deliverables from October through March. Teams are tasked with sourcing companies, performing due diligence, and preparing an investment pitch for their chosen company. The final competition is held at the Wharton Business School in April 2020.

Project team members will also have support of the Director of the Turner Family Center and special sessions with leaders from the local and national social enterprise and social service communities.

The TFC will cover travel expenses for the team members traveling to Philadelphia in April.

Description of Work
• Project team members will complete all online modules and deliverables.
• Project team members will commit to 5-7 hours each week (October 2019 – April 2020, excluding breaks). This includes time to complete training and projects. Teams will be able to determine schedule.
• Independent study credit may be possible. It will be determined on a student by student basis

Qualifications
• No prior investing experience required but interest in market-based solutions is beneficial
• Vanderbilt University graduate student in good academic standing
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Turner Family Center for Social Ventures
• Proven leadership and ability to work on and contribute to a team
• Strong communication skills
• Expertise or skills in your area of academic/professional interest
• Flexibility, passion, patience, and a good sense of humor
