Academics were finishing workshops on storytelling and creative writing when a guest at the conference on prisoner rehabilitation appeared clutching two large kitchen knives. During a few frenzied minutes yesterday the attacker, who has been identified as 28-year-old Usman Khan, stabbed those who crossed his path, before being tackled by witnesses and shot dead by police.
