Chef Mario Martinoli, host of “Food and Dining” radio show on AM 830, led the fourth- and fifth-graders through a lesson on preparing a healthful lunch as part of the American Institute of Wine and Food’s Days of Taste. The students spoke to produce growers to learn about farming, organic food and the farmer’s market.

After buying ingredients at the market in Old Town Tustin, the students learned to make a harvest salad for lunch.

The Farmer’s Market is open at 9 a.m. every Wednesday at El Camino Real and Third Street.
