I've been running the RDP client app from WM6.0 on my Mogul since I got it but now that 6.1 is out. I was wondering if there was a newer version of the MS RDP client that was released with 6.1 that I can download and start using with my new 6.1 ROM's

Anyone seen a newer 6.1 version of RDP out there?

Thanks!!!!

I was wondering that too. The first 6.1 rom I installed did have a different version and seemed more reliable, also had a new option about storage. which i had no idea what it did. So far I haven’t found it in cab form either.

I have 6.1 installed on my Kaiser which was installed by HTC when I sent it in for repair. At first, I installed the WM6 RDP that was on the pdaphonehome.com site. When I saw the 6.1 version posted by 92GTA, I uninstalled the 6.0 version and installed the new 6.1 version. Everything still worked, however when I log off, I get the error message that it crashed and the option to send or don't send. After uninstalling 6.1 and reinstalling 6.0, I don't get the error message upon logging off and closing Remote Desktop Mobile on the Kaiser. I guess I'll be sticking to 6.0 for now.

I read in an article that linked to this page that this was supposed to be compatible with the non-touch screen phones.

I just installed it on my Motorola Q 9h and after it installed it said it was for a previous version of Windows mobile. I DO have Windows Mobile 6.1 on here and I DID install MS_RDP_v6.1.cab.

The keyboard function doesn't seem to work, because it will not allow me to type at all. I also noticed that I have to have IE running as well so that the RDP will find the internet connection.

My guess is that this is only the version for the touch screen phones, and that there is a more smartphone friendly version out there (in fact MS even says so). Anyone happen to have that version?

I’ve just installed the RDP WM6.1 upgrade on my Samsung omnia.

Works fine except I can’t work out how to minimize the screen from full screen.

In full screen the touch keyboard cannot be selected!

Am I missing something here?

Have installed the RDP v6.1 cab but the PC desktop is small and unlike
the RDP I had on my TyTn with V 6.0 I have no way of zooming in.
The RDP is like a normal Remote desktop connection on a PC.
Is there a version with the ability to Zoom in ?

I loaded WM6.1 RDP on my Sprint HTC Touch and was able to connect to my Windows Vista Home Premium machine just fine after running the fix to enable Remote Desktop on Vista Home Premium. My problem is that when I select the option to enable audio I still don't get any audio over my phone. My other problem is that when I select map to the remote machine, my phone does not appear as a drive. Due to this I am unable to transfer files between my phone and my pc using WM6.1 RDP. Can somebody help with getting the audio to work and getting my phone to show up as a drive so I can tranfer files.

Thanks,

Jeffers

I agree, why have they removed the zoom feature from the WM6.1 RDP client? It makes it unusable on my HTC Diamond as the text is too small to read, even with a magnifying glass you still can’t make out some of the characters that are displayed ! Doesn’t someone test this stuff in the real world before they release it. Has anyone found an alternative as this is one of my “must have” applications.

PocketPc 2003 messed up

Someone here installed this client on a pocket pc 2003 and it doesn't work. The instalation also seems to have messed up the existing client which was installed on this machine.

MS used to have a downloadable pocket Pc client but it seems to have disappeared from their site (according to this article http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bridgman_02june10.mspx
it used to be here http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/downloads/terminalservices/default.asp

Anyone got a pointer to the old client?
