Noting Duke...
During the first 11 games of the year, Duke only took three charges, but over the last six the players have taken five (Shay Selby took two) ... the Blue Devils are the only team in the ACC to have beaten a ranked non-conference opponent this season (No. 3 Ohio State and No. 25 James Madison) ... senior Joy Cheek is closing in on 1,000 career points as she now owns 972 for her career ... Krystal Thomas has become the eighth player in Duke history with 100  or more blocked shots ... the Blue Devils hold a 636-268 points in the paint advantage on the year ... the Blue Devils have been listed in the top 25 of the AP poll for 197 straight weeks, which is the longest current streak in the ACC (ACC) and third nationally.

A Look At Connecticut...
Connecticut enters Monday's contest with a 17-0 overall and 5-0 BIG EAST record, while holding a 56-game winning streak.
The Huskies are led by Tina Charles (18.2 points, 8.9 rebounds), Maya Moore (18.2 points, 7.4 rebounds), Kalana Greene (12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds) and Tiffany Hayes (10.1 points, 3.5 rebounds).

Connecticut has already played three ACC teams  this season -- Clemson (W, 87-48), Florida State (W, 78-59) and North Carolina (W, 88-47).  The Huskies will play only their fifth road contest of the season as they are 12-0 this year at home.

The Series With Connecticut...
The Huskies and Blue Devils have faced each other only seven times in school history with the series in Connecticut's favor, 4-3.
Duke had won two straight contests against Connecticut before falling, 74-48, in the Paradise Jam on Nov. 25, 2007, which came during Coach P's first season with the Blue Devils.

The series will move back to Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C., for the first time since Feb. 1, 2003 when the No. 2 Huskies downed No. 1 Duke, 77-65, which was Duke's first sellout crowd in school history.  Connecticut has won both contests in Durham as it also notched an 81-69 win on Jan. 11, 1980.

Over the course of the series, the higher ranked team has won only three of the seven contests.  The home team has also never won a game in the series.

Duke Versus The BIG EAST...
The Blue Devils own a 31-16 record against teams from the BIG EAST-- Cincinnati (0-1), Connecticut (3-4), DePaul (1-1), Georgetown (4-0), Louisville (1-1), Marquette (2-0), Notre Dame (1-4), Pittsburgh (1-0), Providence (3-1), Rutgers (3-2), St. John's (1-0), Seton Hall (4-2), South Florida (2-0), Syracuse (1-0), Villanova (1-0) and West Virginia (2-0). What Happened Last Time We Met...
Eight-ranked Duke fell, 74-48, to second-ranked Connecticut on Nov. 25, 2007 in the championship of the 2007 Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, USVI. Chante Black led the Blue Devils with 16 points and was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament team.

Tina Charles had 13 points and eight rebounds and the Huskies took control in the opening minutes.  Connecticut led 40-24 at halftime and put the Blue Devils away in the second half with 11-for-22 shooting.  Both teams ran the floor aggressively, but the Huskies outrebounded the Blue Devils 35-28 and shot 53 percent from the floor while holding Duke to 36 percent.

Carrem Gay added six points for the Blue Devils, while junior Abby Waner made her return after missing four games, but was held scoreless.  It was the first meeting between the teams since the 2006 NCAA tournament, when Duke beat Connecticut in overtime for a spot in the Final Four.
The Huskies jumped out to a 13-4 lead by scoring 13 unanswered points, including two long three-pointers from the same spot by Renee Montgomery. Charde Houston scored on an alley-oop from Moore to put Connecticut ahead 28-12 with eight minutes to play in the first half.

The teams traded baskets for the first part of the second half before Connecticut pulled away.  Eleven players scored for Connecticut, which got 29 points from their bench. The Huskies outscored the Blue Devils 27-17 on second-chance points and went 20-for-25 from the free throw line to keep their big lead down the stretch.

Duke Versus No. 1 Ranked Teams...
Over Duke's history, the Blue Devils own an all-time record of 3-5 against No. 1 ranked teams, but has won three in a row against Connecticut (2004), Tennessee (2006) and Maryland (2007).

In games played in Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke owns a 2-2 overall record against No. 1 ranked teams.  The Blue Devils have won the past two in a row -- No. 1 Tennessee in 2005-06 and No. 1 Maryland in 2006-07.

Duke has won five out of the last eight games against teams ranked in the top five nationally in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

During her seven years as the head coach at Michigan State, Coach P went up against three No. 1 ranked teams and notched a 1-2 record against those squads - loss vs. Maryland in 2007, loss vs. Tennessee in 2005 and win vs. Stanford in 2005.  She has yet to face  a No. 1 ranked team at Duke.

Streaking Connecticut...
The last time Duke and Connecticut played each other at a home site was on Jan. 3, 2004 in the Hartford Civic Center.  The Huskies had a 76-game regular season and 69-game home court winning streak, but the Blue Devils made an incredible comeback in the second half to defeat No. 1 Connecticut, 68-67.  Jessica Foley hit a three-pointer as time expired to guide Duke to the victory.  The Blue Devils had seven future professional players on the squad.

At Home in Cameron Indoor Stadium...
Duke is riding a 23-game home court winning streak dating back the last three years.   During that streak, the Blue Devils have knocked off six ranked opponents -- #3/3 Ohio State, #3/4 Stanford, #9/10 North Carolina, #12/15 Maryland, #14/15 Oklahoma State and #24/25 James Madison.

The undefeated season in 2008-09 at home marked only the second unblemished Cameron Indoor Stadium record in school history (2006-07).  In three years at Duke, Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie has notched a 31-3 record in Cameron.

In Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke has won 32 out of the last 35 contests, 46 out of the last 49 and 127 out of the last 136 games since 2000-01.  The Blue Devils have registered four win streaks of 15 or more since 2003.  The 23-game winning streak ranks fifth nationally.

Looking for a Sellout...
If the Duke/Connecticut game on Monday becomes a sellout, it will mark the 13th sellout in school history and the second against the Huskies.  The first sellout crowd in school history was on Feb. 1, 2003 as No. 1 Duke fell, 77-65, to No. 2 Connecticut.

The Blue Devils' previous high in attendance this season was 5,237 against third-ranked Ohio State.
