Like a thunderstorm that pulls you deep into the night
She speaks to me in numbers and is gone when I open my eyes (She wants more)
You know I’ll just forget it if you give me a chance (One more time.)
I can’t desire something if it just isn’t there
It just isn’t there, it just isn’t there, it just isn’t there, it just isn’t there.

She’s in my blood and like a fire inside me
It consumes the air then leads me blindly
She has my hopes and dreams
And she‘s the one I see who screams go on, go on.
She doesn’t know who I am
I really want to tell her that this can’t go on tonight.
She’s in my blood, in like a broken glass
You take one last breath and she’ll leave you bruised tonight.

She was calling but I kept waiting by the phone.
She looked at me with her left eye closed and said
"You don’t know if you don’t know, then they wont know." (She wants more.)
You know I’ll just forget it if you give me a chance. (One more time.)
You can’t decide on something if it just isn’t there.

She’s in my blood, and like a fire inside me.
Consumes the air then leads me, leads me, l-l-l-l-leads..Me.
She’s in my blood, and like a fire inside me.
Consumes the air then leads me blindly.
She has my hopes and dreams
And she’s the one I see who screams "go on, go on."
She doesn’t know who I am
I really wanna tell her that this can’t go on tonight.
She’s in my blood, in like a broken glass
You take one last breath and she’ll leave you bruised tonight.

She is temptation, and temptation has it's fangs in me.
I never thought that I could live a lie so painfully.
Well she was blind and she’s taking her time
She goes on and on she takes a hold and never lets you go.

She’s in my blood, and like a fire inside me.
Consumes the air then leads me blindly
She has my hopes and dreams
And she’s the one I see who screams "go on, go on."
She doesn’t know who I am. (and like a fire inside me. Consumes the air then leads me blindly) She doesn’t know who I am. (she has my hopes and dreams, and she’s the one I see who screams "go on, go on.")
Go on. On. On.

She doesn’t know who I am
I really wanna tell her that this can’t go on tonight.
She’s in my blood, and like a broken glass
You’ll take one last breath and she’ll leave you bruised tonight.

First, an awesome song. Superb lyrics too! It's pretty much about resisting temptation to go too far with a girl. He describes how temptation gets ahold of him in the chorus, and how "temptation" doesn't know who he is. That is, he is someone who won't dive into physical intimacy. What I would call the bridge explains how "she" is temptation, and what it's done to him. Powerful song, an admirable message. Who would have though resisting temptation could sound so cool ;-)

Wow. Tmac's explanation... I'd never really though about it, but looking at it now, it totally makes sense. Love this song.

Robert Cohn is a referense to Hemmingway's The Sun Also Rises. I'm not sure what they mean by "reinventing" though, what do you guys think?

In "The Sun Also Rises" robert cohn has an affair with the main character Jake Barnes' girl Brett Ashley In the book Cohn had an inferior complex and he always tried to be civil despite being the target of hurtful statements Plus that could tie in with the temptation statement

I think what Tmac said is probably right, but in the music video, he kisses the girl at the end. That doesn't make much sense to me because he's supposed to resist the temptation.

But at the end they fall like he is "falling into temptation" thats what i think...

Yeah he's saying that he WANTS to "tell her that this can't go on tonight," but he never says that he does, so we have to assume that he fell to the temptation. The end of the video confirms that.

That's kissing... The song is about resisting sexual temptation. There's nothing wrong or immoral about kissing.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
