Daidra Brown • 5-7 • Point Guard

Seattle, Wash./College of Southern Idaho/John F. Kennedy Catholic High School

Junior college transfer Daidra Brown returns to her hometown of Seattle, Wash. after playing for a season at the College of Southern Idaho. With CSI, she was a Scenic West Athletic Conference First Team selection and second in the nation in steals, with 5.1 per game. Brown, a 2009 graduate of nearby John F. Kennedy Catholic High School, was a four-time All-Seamount First Team and a two-time All-State selection. She helped guide the Lancers to the WIAA 3A State Tournament twice, including claiming the championship in 2008-09. Brown will have three seasons of playing eligibility with SeattleU.

Coach Bonvicini on Daidra Brown: "Daidra is a very quick and athletic point guard. She is an excellent defender on the ball and is one of the best I have seen in a long time. Not only is she a great leader, Daidra is very good on the floor in general. She is someone who will definitely add to our mix."

Talisa Rhea • 5-11 • Guard

Juneau, Alaska/Oregon State/Juneau-Douglas High School

An elite Division I basketball player, Talisa Rhea will join the Redhawks after transferring from Oregon State. She played for the Beavers from 2007-10, where she was a two-time All-Pacfic-10 Honorable Mention selection and was named to the Pacfic-10 All-Freshman Team following the 2007-08 season. Rhea was named to the All-Pacific-10 Team by the media after being the 15th Beaver to score over 1,000 career points as a junior. She led OSU in 2009-10, averaging 15.3 points and 3.6 rebounds on the year. A complete student-athlete, she is a two-time Pacfic-10 All-Academic and ESPN The Magazine Academic District VIII Second Team honoree. Due to NCAA transfer rules, she will redshirt the 2010-11 season and will have one season of playing eligibility with the Redhawks

Coach Bonvicini on Talisa Rhea: "Talisa is someone I have known for quite a while, as she is someone I had recruited when I was at Arizona. She is a smart person who understands the game and is an excellent shooter. Talisa brings so much to the table, as she is a proven winner, a great team player, an excellent leader and a hard worker. Beyond that, she very bright and brings a lot of different elements to our program. Bringing in someone who is a proven winner will really help our program. She will be the oldest of all the new players, but with the redshirt year, it will not only benefit her but her teammates playing around her."

Sylvia Shepard • 5-10 • Guard

Alta Loma, Calif./Alta Loma High School

A 5-10 guard, Sylvia Shepard brings power and athleticism to the SeattleU women's basketball program. She is a two-time All-Baseline League First Team selection and following the 2009-10 season, Shepard was named to the All-Valley Third Team and selected as ALHS's Team MVP for the second consecutive season. As a senior, she averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and six assists per game.

Coach Bonvicini on Sylvia Shepard: "Sylvia is a phenomenal athlete, scorer, rebounder and assist leader. She has point guard skills, handles the ball well, and has excellent quickness and jumping ability. She is going to provide a new dimension to us both offensively and defensively."

Kacie Sowell • 6-2 • Forward

Ventura, Calif./Buena High School

Southern California native Kacie Sowell will add height and depth at the post position for the Redhawks. The 6-2 forward is a two-time All-Channel League First Team selection. Following the 2009-10 season, she was named was the Channel League MVP, to the All-CIF Second Team, and Ventura County Star and VCBCA All-County First Teams. As a senior, she averaged 17.4 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Coach Bonvicini on Kacie Sowell: "Kacie is strong and excellent rebounder, and was very well coached. She was her league's MVP this year and is a talented athlete. Kacie has a very bright future and is someone who is going to be an outstanding student in addition to being a great player."

The four student-athlete's signed will join Ashley Ward (Irvine, Calif.), who signed this past fall, and Amani Butler (Corona, Calif.), who redshirted this past season at SeattleU after transferring from the University of Arizona. Butler will have three seasons of playing eligibility with the Redhawks.

Bonvicini will look to sign one to two more players for next year to add additional depth to her roster.
