WILMINGTON, N.C. - The contract of UNCW women's basketball coach Ann Hancock will not be renewed for the 2010-11 season, Director of Athletics Kelly Mehrtens announced Wednesday.

      Hancock's contract expires on May 31, 2010. A national search for her replacement will begin immediately.

      "We appreciate Ann's hard work and dedication to UNCW during her time here," said Mehrtens. "We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."

      Hancock, who took over the program in 2000-01, recently completed her 10th season at UNCW and coached the Seahawks to a 12-19 record. 

      In 10 seasons, Hancock compiled a 138-156 overall record and a 72-91 ledger in the CAA.
