Kate Lanz, the 2009 Class 6A Oregonian player of the year in girls basketball, has been granted a letter of release from Oregon State and plans to transfer.

"I decided to leave because for me to be successful I needed to be in an environment that was positive and it wasn't a positive environment," Lanz said. "I needed to make a change."

Lanz is the fourth player to leave the 2009-10 team. Talisa Rhea, OSU's leading scorer this season, has announced she will transfer to Seattle University for her senior season, and Taylor Champion and Amaya Gastaminza left in midseason.

Lanz, a former Central Catholic star, averaged nine minutes per game for the Beavers, who finished the season 11-20.
