about

After Kazam Davis’ ‘When will we’ this new Bassplate Records release is once again connected with Exile Di brave’s EDB Records. It’s Exile in person that is riding a deep, slow and infectious riddim reminding the rub-a-dub era with his brand new ‘Dis yah sinting’. His conscious lyrics are about the greediness of the politicians on global scale and their social experiments in order to steal the hope to the poor people everywhere. The artwork, created by the italian artist Paolo Torchetti, is inspired by Max Romeo’s ‘War inna Babylon’ and it’s a tribute to the ‘sufferer style’ from the seventies.

Exile di Brave is born Clayton Johnson and hails from the sunshine city of Portmore, and is on a mission in music to entertain and uplift. He first started out doing hip hop music while going to college in 2003 but soon found out that as he became seasoned in honing his musical style and competence, he was being usurped by the inevitable melodies of reggae.Exile has so far toured Guyana, England and Europe. His energetic performance at Reggae Jam in Germany; Rototom Festival in Spain and Uprising Festival in Slovakia in 2014 only added another accolade to his musical resume. In late 2012 he released his debut CD “The Calling and a second album is on the way called "The Journey begins" to be released early 2015. Exile is also the director of a weekly event called 'Vinyl Thursdays' which promotes live roots music, plays only vinyl and streams online.
