Welcome to the second annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in the Pokémon Polls board, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

If you haven't had the opportunity, please read the Rules/FAQ to find out more about the tournament:

Spoiler:

NOTE: Because of the number of Flying-type Pokémon and the limited number of poll spaces, not all eligible Pokémon could be included. If you want to vote for an unlisted Flying-type, check the "Other Pokémon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until September 20th, so get voting!

All of the Flying types I vote for, I find really cool (or, in the case of Togekiss and Altaria, really cute).

Other Flying types I'm quite fond of are Charizard, Crobat, Gyarados, Ninjask, Dragonite, Salamence, Rayquaza, Drifblim, Yanmega, Sigilyph, and Archeops.

Pidgey - certain people would kill me for picking anything else! It's not the most interesting family of Pokémon ever, but it certainly is a cool one and they have very nice designs. Nothing overly special about them but everything about them was done right and they're big favourites of mine. Plus Pidgeot in the TGC is just badass ♥

Talonflame for president.

Yeah, I voted for this bird since it looks really cool, is definitely the best earlygame bird competitively and gets Swords Dance + Brave Bird + Flare Blitz to destroy in-game opponents.

My votes for this one went to Togekiss, Talonflame, Staraptor, Skarmory, Lugia, and Ho-oh. Because they're all great for battle and are cool to boot.

Before I would have said none - didn't liked flying types before - after a few challenges where I had to use flying types - actually learned to like many of them.

Voted for: Pidgey/Pidgeotto/Pidgeot, Aerodactyl, Murkrow/Hunchkrow, Taillow/Swellow, Emolga, Fletchling/Fletchinder/Talonflame.

By design alone, my most favorite would be the Taillow, Swellow.

I voted for a few unlisted pokemon.

169.png
Crobat - Sleek, stealthy, and the redeeming quality to the dreaded zubat line. When I first played silver, I thought, NO, another zubat infested cave, until one day I found out it could evolve once I faced Koga at the e4. It's a very simple yet effective design.

334.png
Altaria - Perfect for a favorite flying type challenge, she surrounded in a lofty cloud when she takes flight. Plus, those white blush marks on her face, I just love this pokemon.

630.png
Mandibuzz - Buzzard with shell armor and bone-ponytail. Vullaby is also a nice concept, I mean it's a bone diaper! did I mention the black and pink color palette?

416.png
Vespiquen - Only pokemon of the seven that deserves a queen or king in its name. I love the her beehive shaped body and red gemstone. Plus, combee is one of the cutest ideas ever.

Swanna First off, Ducklett is insanely cute! Swanna however is quite graceful; I love the feathery adornments on its head and blue adornments on the front, in addition to her long neck.

I already cast votes but couldn't post due to massive lag, but here's my post now:

Togetic / Togekiss - I'm quite the fan of the Togepi line, and every generation seems like it improved on it. Togekiss getting introduced sealed the line's fate as a fave of mine, and now with Fairy typing it's even more feared. Togekiss is the essential sign of cute yet powerful.

Murkrow line - I love these Dark/Flying birds, complete with pretty cool hats. They also get really nice abilities, especially the potent Moxie.

Emolga - I love Pikaclones, 'nuff said.

Swablu line - So fluffy and I started loving Altaria a lot lately, thanks to not only its new Mega but also its awesome tanking abilities. Yes I have a fetish for cuties don't I?

Starly line - My fave early region bird, and you'll see why. It broke the trend of "mediocre" birds and Staraptor is such a menace every time I use it in-game, making it my go-to Flying-type in 4th Gen.

Rufflet line - Pretty much the most American-looking Pokemon ever. Also a hard-hitter with some nice abilities to boot, especially Braviary's Defiant. Always worth picking it up in White 2.

Hawlucha - Unique typing, and I think it's a badass little thing that's fast and hits hard.

Fletchling line - I voted for these guys in the Fire-type poll (Charizard eventually won there, which I was not surprised at) and I love how they broke the mold by being the first early birds that actually deviated from the common Normal/Flying blend.

Loving this poll! Flying type's one of my favourites :) I voted for:

1. Spearow/Fearow
2. Moltres
3. Honchkrow
4. Swellow
5. Chatot

Moltres I just love while the other four have been staple parts of a lot of my teams, very fond of all of them especially Swellow and Fearow. Kinda surprised I'm the only one who's voted for Chatot thus far, he's been a lifesaver for me in more than a few online battles :)

Anyways, may the best bird win! :)

Togekiss has been one of my most favorite flying-types for a while, and I'm expecting it to continue being one for a decent amount of time. It looks simply adorable to me (and I'm sure many others), and when it comes to battling, it's simply great. With combination of Air Slash, Thunder Wave, and its Serene Grace ability, it could take down opposing Pokémon single-handedly without giving them even one chance to strike back. Plus, it could also learn Roost, which is great as it allows to recover itself whenever it wishes. If used right, this Pokémon could be simply unstoppable.

As for second, that would have to be Skarmory. It looks quite intimidating in terms of design, which really complements its boldness and whatnot, and stats-wise, it's quite bulky, allowing it to endure a ton of hits. There are many more reasons as to why I like this Pokémon; these are only a couple.

Articuno, Hoothoot, Lugia, and Hawlucha.

The Legendary Birds have been around since G1, and Articuno happens to be my favorite of the three. The most majestic and feminine of the trio, and definitely a cool creature.

Silver was the first Pokemon game I played, and Hoothoot was the first Pokemon I caught. Noctowl is the epitome of the wise owl archetype, and just a cool design.

Lugia is a Psychic sea dragon that can fly, swim, and SHOOT LASERS. Remember the sound Aeroblast made on the GBC? Why is it so awesome? I don't know, but I love that sound.

When I first learned of Generation 6, I was doubtful I would pick it up. Until I learned that there was a luchador hawk in the game! I have never been in a Sky Battle, and I probably never will, simply because my beloved lucha libre hawk (Free Bird) isn't allowed to compete. But he still delivers a vicious elbow drop of the top rope to any and all challengers, OH YEAH!

I voted for the Altaria line and Skarmory, because overall I think they're great Pokemon! :) Altaria has a nice design and her mega has a great typing, while Skarmory's stats are amazing.

I vote for all except for Tornadus, 'cause I'm still holding a grudge for disturbing my training back then. <_<

Aside from them, through Others, I vote for Crobat, Xatu, Mantine, Tropius, Salamance, Rayquaza, Unfezant, Swanna and Yveital. Reasons for all of them will be so long, so I'll just say may the best bird win. :>
